Meets once, 2-hour workshop

Mac 101 is taught using OS X Lion. You may use one of our studio iMacs during the class, or you are also welcome to bring your own laptop running OS X Lion.


Mac  201

Meets once, 2-hour workshop

 Learn to use the basic apps that come with your Mac.

iPhoto Basics

Meets twice, 1.5 hours each time

Learn how iPhoto helps you organize your photos so you can find them fast, edit them so they look their best, and easily share them with your friends and family. 

  • Full-screen mode
  • Organize photos by events, faces and places
  • Create new albums and smart albums
  • Tagging and searching with metadata
  • Basic editing tools
  • Crop and straighten photos
  • Remove red-eye and blemishes

iPhoto is taught using iPhoto '11. You'll be using one studio iMacs  (OS X Lion) during the class, which will include sample files for our projects.


iMovie Basics

Meets twice, 1.5 hours each time

With iMovie, you can combine photos and video clips, add titles, transitions, music and special effects to make your own movie. In this class, we’ll show you how, and you’ll get hands-on practice building a movie from clips and photos we provide.

iPad Basics

Meets once, 1.5 hours

Learn to love your iPad

If you have an iPad, or are considering an iPad, this class is for you.Discover tips and techniques you won't find on the Apple site. We’ll also show you the best free and low-cost apps for getting the very most from your iPad.

  • iPad options, accessories and AppleCare
  • Set up: Connecting to a computer
  • Learn the hardware: Buttons, ports, battery
  • Learn the interface: Navigation and displays
  • Downloading and managing your apps
  • Connections: Bluetooth devices, Wi-Fi and cellular networks

iPad Basics features the iPad2. If you are using an iPad1, many of the same topics apply, except of course the topics related to the cameras.  To get the most from these lessons, please make sure your iPad is updated to the latest operating system, and that you have enabled a free iCloud account.
